Fire Away Book Review
“I suppose loving yourself isn’t as hard as I thought it would be when you have others helping you do it.”
✨A Glimpse of What to Expect:
Who do you call when you get put in county jail, your parents won’t accept your call, and you’re brand new to town? Savannah doesn’t have many choices and the date that used her to make his ex jealous seems like the unfortunate best option. Luckily for her, Warren has been looking for an opportunity to make things up to her, but she won’t let herself become a pawn in his game. While trying to keep that boundary, the town’s golden boy becomes the best candidate to help fix her reputation after the incident that landed her in jail and Warren agrees to play the part as her boyfriend. But lines quickly begin to blur and true feelings begin to become impossible to ignore. Just as Warren and Savannah try to understand their feelings, things begin to unravel in Sav’s life. Not only is she getting sick on her job, but someone is also messing with her home. That someone has been plotting against them at every turn. Will this person ruin their chance to find true happiness?
✨My Thoughts:
I love love loved this book! It was so cute! This is the second installment in the Bunkhouse Series by Lainey Lawson - Book 1, Smoking Gun, revolved around Gage and Blythe. This series follows the same structure as the Twisted Series or The Off-Campus Series, so if you liked the vibe of those books, I truly believe you will also enjoy this series. Some of the main tropes represented in Fire Away are fake dating, small-town romance, found friendship, and found family. Out of this list, fake dating is probably one of my favorite tropes and the author wrote it beautifully! The relationship between Warren and Savannah was perfect for this trope. Plus, Fire Away is dual POV and I absolutely devour anything written with dual POVs, so this was perfect for me. The banter between the FMC, MMC, and the side characters was so good and kept me hooked the entire time through the book. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series! Book 3 will be following around the characters Tripp and Mesa and I can’t wait to see their relationship blossom.
Fire Away is out now and I highly recommend it to my romance bookish people!!!
